Applied Music Class
The Christian Music Academy offers private applied music instruction for the piano. This course is offered at the beginning, intermediate and advanced levels of instruction. It can be offered as a group class in the beginning level. This class is designed to prepare and develop an understanding toward music. To achieve a fundamental knowledge of all major scales at a steady progression of two (2) octaves or more, in similar and contrary motion. The student will understand the differences and functions of rhythms, whole, half, quarter notes and rests. Development of key signatures, sharps, flats, accidentals, half and whole step relationship in major and minor keys. Including finger exercises and ear training as a major part of the curriculum. The basic knowledge of intervals, triads, broken chords, ledger lines, and arpeggios. To learn basic music terminology.
